Obituary

Former New Jersey resident Jean Florence Bergen, 81, passed away October 14, 2022 in Cape Coral, Florida. Jean was born on November 6, 1940, in New Jersey to Russell Peterson and Doris Martin. She was married to Robert John Bergen for 61 years who passed June 25, 2020. Jean was the Neighborhood Chairman for the Girl Scouts for 15 years and worked at The American Red Cross opening shelters for over 20 years for major disasters and helping people in need. She was a Registered Nurse, an EMT Paramedic, and worked with Edison Community College setting up classes and books for future nursing students. Jean loved to shop and spend time with her family and friends.

Jean was survived by her son Robert J. Bergen (wife Valree) her daughter Robin J. Schenk (husband Daniel). Her granddaughter Ashley (husband Felipe) Pellisson. Her grandson Dustin Bergen(wife Sarah) and their 3 daughters Eva, Samantha, and Anna. Her grandson Robert Bergen III (wife Jennifer) and their children Haisley and Rhett. Her granddaughter Kirstyn Bergen and her son Connor. Her grandson Jimmy Springer. Her grandson Daniel Schenk (wife Krystal) and their daughter Mikayla. Her granddaughter Jillian Maraima (husband Jimmy) and their children Zechariah and Katalina. Her sisters Donna Hyland, Nancy Superak and Anita Cowan. Her brothers Paul Weichler and Christopher Weichler. At her request, no services will be held.

    What an amazing friend Jean was. Always available to listen and advise. Everyone remembers her house at Christmas time. It was like a Christmas Wonderland. You will be very much missed
