Obituary

Jean Bryant Jessie was a woman of strength and courage.  The year of her 80th birthday she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  She faced it with bravery and determination.  Jean shared many happy memories with her husband of 47 years, Dewey Lee Jessie, who passed away in March of 2012.  Our beloved Mother passed away on April 02, 2013, at the age of 82.  Jean found comfort in knowing God was waiting for her with open arms.  She was a woman with many talents and interests.  She loved planting and tending to her vegetable and rose gardens.  Jean loved to sew and quilt and knit.  Everyone looked forward to her home cooked meals.  Her spirit was competitive and she loved playing a good game of cards. Jean is survived by her devoted children, Gary (Renee) Hampton of Orlando, Deborah  (Barry, deceased) Williams of Nashville, Cheryl (Kenneth) Wright of Winter Park, Diana Meinecke of Virginia;  six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Her strength and courage is an inspiration to all who knew her.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 08, 2013, at the Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 400 S. Lakemont Ave., Winter Park, FL. A celebration of Jean’s life will follow at the home of Cheryl and Ken Wright.  Interment will be held at Palm Cemetery, Winter Park.  In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida.

Sincere condolences to Jean's entire family. We worked with Jean for many pleasant years and we came to love and admire her. She was a fierce mom and cared deeply about doing the right thing, always treating people properly. We will never forget Jean and her extraordinary spirit.

Our deepest condolences at the loss of G-ma Jean. She was a firecracker and I have fond memories of spending time with she and Dewey in Nashville. May God bless your family and bring you comfort in this difficult time.

    Lots of Love,

John, Wanda, Becky and Heather (soon to be Zoller!)
