Obituary

Jean Carson Slone passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2016, with her husband of 18 years at her side.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 15, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ann Carson.  Jean grew up in New Hyde Park, Long Island and graduated from State University College of New York at Cortland in 1968 with bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She moved to Florida in 1972, and lived in Tarpon Springs, Indian Rocks Beach and The Villages.

Jean was always enthralled by little children and would teach them all of her life. In 1998 she retired as the director of early childhood development at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church in Tarpon Springs.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband, GB Slone, her children, Trisha Hamilton (Kevin), son Adam Lanes, daughter Casey Russell (Brad), daughter Rachel Slone and son Johnathan Slone. She was a loving grandmother to Erik, Anna, Tripp, Cate, John, and Charlotte.

Jean was predeceased by her brother, Harry Carson, and survived by her sister Eileen Gillies (Paul), her sister-in-law Joann Carson, two aunts, many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews.   She leaves behind many old and new friends.

Jean and GB attended Saint George Episcopal Church in The Villages, FL, where there will be a memorial service on September 17, 2016, at 11:00 am.
