Obituary

EDGEWATER, FL - Jean Osowski (nee: Dunning), age 82. died September 5, 2013 at the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Southeast Volusia Care Center, in Edgewater, Florida where she had served for years as a volunteer, helping others find comfort during their final days.
She was a resident of Edgewater Landing. Jean was the widow of Stanley Osowski, Sr., who died three years previously. She leaves behind her step-son Stanley. Jr., and his wife Carolyn "Jane" Osowski; step-nephew Ronald Osowski and his companion Mary O'Grady; step-niece Sandra Gillooly and her husband John; step- granddaughter Susan Cocroft and her husband Mark and their children
Jessica and William; as well as a great many friends. Jean had been a resident of Formby. England, and it was in England where she met her husband-to-be while he was there on assignment with his company during 1961. She came to the United States to marry him after his return to his home in Rhode Island, where they lived before moving to Florida. Jean later became a United States citizen, while remaining in many ways charmingly British. The Osowskis had a long interest in classical music, particularly opera, and Jean continued to be a strong supporter of the arts. At Edgewater Landing, Jean was active with the Library Committee and the Garden Club, and did much to help with the social activities there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast Volusia Care Center at 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater, FL 32141.
Life Celebration will be 11AM, Thursday at Hospice of Volusia Flagler Southeast Care Center 4140 South Ridgewood Avenue Edgewater FL.

    Janet and family ENGLAND says:
We were all very saddened to hear of the death of Auntie Jean. I have known her all my life and Uncle Stanley until recently. They have always been very good friends of the family and very kind. We met up both in England and they kindly let us stay with them in Florida on two holidays and in Rhode Island. We will miss them both and always have very fond memories of "Auntie Jean and Uncle Stanley who live in America". Rest in peace together.
Love J.T.R.A. ( as we signed our emails)
