Obituary
Jeannette Ann Tornabene, 94, of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on December 26, 2024. She was born on August 20, 1930, in Ardmore, PA to parents Pasquale and Julia (Zaraco) Frattone. She graduated from Bridgeport High School and went on to own Tornabene’s Quality Seafood and Catering along with her husband, Charles.
Jeannette (Jean) was full of life and energy; she was a wonderful wife, mother, nanna, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. She was an avid reader of any genre, and was usually found reading with her cats surrounding her. Jean enjoyed camping on Maryland’s Eastern Shore where she and her husband took pleasure in boating, fishing, and crabbing. She preferred staying active in both her body and mind, working on many types of needlework projects, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. Mom was always ready for a new adventure and loved traveling throughout the US and Canada, whether it be for a weekend get-away or an extended vacation.
She was active in several churches throughout her lifetime including Our Lady of Mount Caramel in Bridgeport, PA, where she was a member of the Saint Teresa Sedalia as well as Saint Peter’s Church, Pottstown, PA and Saint Columbkill Church, Boyertown, PA. Jeannette was also active in the Ringing Rocks Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Pottsgrove, PA, where she served as Treasurer for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Tornabene of Fort Myers, FL; son-in-law, Scott Denning of Rose, ID, granddaughter, Caitlin (Richard) Thill of Litchfield Park, AZ and great granddaughter Emily; sister-in-law, Joan Tornabene of The Villages, FL; nieces, Linda Byrnes of Huffman, TX and Nancy Hilliard of New Caney, TX; nephews, Kenneth Frattone of King of Prussia, PA and John Frattone of Glen Allen, VA, as well as many other loving friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 67 years, Charles; sisters, Dolores and brother-in-law Dominic Messere and Emily and brother-in-law Anthony Diotisalvi; and a brother, George and sister-in-law Dolores Frattone.
According to Mom’s wishes, the family will hold a private service to honor her life and memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the nonprofit organization Wednesday’s Community Cats & Kittens via Zelle (wednesdayscommunitycats@gmail.com) or Venmo (@Wednesdaycommunitycats1313).
I am so sorry I wasn't able to meet you, but even though we never really met, you were a part of my life, you always made me smile when we talked, you always made me feel loved, you will be missed, and never forgotten.
With all my love.
