Obituary

Jeffrey Allen Knox, 44 of New Smyrna Beach died Tuesday, May 8, 2012.  Jeff was born June 16, 1967 in Sanford, Maine to the late Ruth Ann and Harvey Knox.  He served his country with the United States Marine Corp as a Corporal from 1991 – 1999 and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service.  After he was honorable discharged he settled in New Smyrna Beach.  Jeff enjoyed the ocean, scuba diving, fishing and anything out on the water.  He was an avid Florida Gators fan.  When Jeff became ill his good friend, Margaret Nelson cared for him.  He is survived by Margaret Nelson and many other close friends.  A life celebration will be held 7PM, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 N. Causeway, New Smyrna Beach with full military honors .  Friends may gather to share stories at 6PM until service time.   A life celebration will be held 7PM, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 N.     So sad that I just learned of Jeff's passing. He was a good guy to hang out with when we were neighbors in our teen years. Many in Sanford , Maine lost touch with him when he moved to Florida in the 1980's. I'm proud to say he was my friend . He , along with his friend , Dennis Desrochers, survived a horrible car accident when they were only 15 years old. I'm glad that he was a U.S. Marine and served his country proudly. He will always be remembered and missed by his family and friends.

    I grew up with Jeff in Sanford ME. He was a very good friend of mine and I have a lot of childhood memories of him. May he rest in peace.

    My sincerest condolences to the family. Daniel 12:2 tells us "there will be many of those asleep in the ground of dust who will wake up, these to indefinitely lasting life." Soon all our loved ones will be resurrected to live in a new paradise earth where death will be no more, neither will pain and suffering. What a wonderful day that will be.

    My condolences to each and every one of the family members of Jeff. He was a great friend in the short time we knew each other. I wish I had known he was sick. I just seen him a few months ago and he looked well and everything in his life was falling into place. God surely works in mysterious ways and knows to take the good ones early. I am deeply sorry for the loss, I will surely miss him.
