Obituary

Jere Franklin Daniels, Sr., 81, of Winter Park, Florida went to heaven November 11, 2017.  He was born May 8, 1936 in Flowery Branch, Georgia to Logan and Nelle Daniels.  He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Geneva Culpepper, and his grandson Casey Logan Windham.  Jere graduated from the University of Florida earning a Business Administration Degree with honors and a Law Degree.  While at the University of Florida, he was a member of the Law Review, Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  On February 2, 1963, Jere married his childhood sweetheart Jane Henry Daniels. They moved to Winter Park where Jere practiced law for 55 years.  He served his community in many capacities.  He was a Deacon at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, on the board of the Winter Park YMCA,  a member of several service organizations, including Optimist Club, 50 Good Men, Rotary Club of Winter Park, and served on various City of Winter Park Boards.  He coached Little League and acted as a Renegade chief.  He is survived by his children Jennifer Holman (Ken), Rebecca Windham (Roger), Jere Daniels (Ashley), Mike Daniels (Kelly), and his grandchildren Dune, Summer, Ellie, Grady, Patrick, Harrison, Lillian, Sophia, and Coleton.  Jere will be most remembered for  his love of adventure and his desire to share this love.  Those friends and family who were fortunate enough to be included on his backpacking, camping, and road trips around this country, his biking trips around the world, and his hunting, fishing, and scuba-diving adventures will hold these memories dear.  A memorial service will be held at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 400 S. Lakemont Avenue on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution of your choice.
