Obituary
Jerry Angelin Chandler (85), most recently of Summerfield, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Jerry was born on September 4, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama to Paul and Jennie Chandler, which may easily explain why he was such an avid Crimson Tide fan all of his life. Known for his patience and his wonderful sense of humor, Jerry also enjoyed playing horseshoes and attempting to play golf. There is speculation that these attempts at the sport were merely excuses for him to go fishing for his ball. Jerry loved to travel and perhaps that is why he excelled at his military career with the American Air Force. He met his wife of twenty-nine years, Brigitte, during time he spent in Germany. Jerry and Brigitte built a strong marriage and wonderful life together, one where his relationship with his step-son, Buddy, was that of a true father and son. Jerry’s strength of character and his kindness will forever be missed.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Paul Ralston Chandler and Jennie McCrory Chandler; and by his brother, Paul Chandler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brigitte R. I. Chandler (Werfel); his son, Albert “Buddy” R. Fougere; and by his sister-in-law, Sigrid Steinmetz, and her husband, Jörg.
Service dates and times for Jerry’s Celebration of Life shall be announced at a later time.
