Obituary

Jerry Wayne Hearn, 67 passed away unexpectedly September 7 after a short illness at Advent Hospital in Daytona Beach.

Jerry was born July 8, 1955, in Anniston, Alabama to Billy Ray and Bobbie Hearn. The family moved to Pensacola, Florida when Jerry was a young boy and then eventually the family settled in the Daytona Beach area.

Jerry graduated from Mainland High School class of 1973. He worked at Pantry Pride Supermarket for many years finally becoming a manager.

Shortly before leaving Pantry Pride Jerry met Bob Sirois who would become his partner and on Christmas Day 2016 his husband. They started a cleaning service together that Jerry continued with after Bob joined Votran.

After Jerry retired, he and Bob enjoyed their dogs, some traveling, live musical theater and scouring antique shops and thrift stores for hidden treasures.

Jerry was predeceased by his father Billy Hearn, his mother Bobbie Hearn and his brothers Allen and James Michael Hearn.
Jerry is survived by his partner and husband of over 40 years Bob Sirois, his sister-in-law Eleanor Hearn, his brothers Robert (Nancy) and Randy Hearn. Jerry had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, Joshua, Jesse (Kayla Largent) and John Hearn, Elisa Baker, Amy (Paul Watts) and BobbiJo Beach (Fulmer Collins) and Kristina (Mike) Goris and his treasured great nieces and nephews. Jerry is also survived by many special friends including Mike Ferrie, Santiago Ramirez, Betty Crooms and Grace Hart. And of course, our beloved dogs Tyler, Bart and Lisa were surely waiting at the end of the Rainbow Bridge for Jerry.

A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held Sunday October 16, from 2pm-5pm at RiverGrille on the Tomoka at 950 US-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.

Instead of flowers, Bob suggests that gifts in Jerry’s name could be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Habitat for Humanity.

    Bob
I just wanted to say what a wonderful Tribute and Celebration of Jerry's life yesterday. I am sure everything met with his approval lol it was lovely! I was glad to be able to meet some of your friends that Jerry spoke so much about I felt like I knew them and of course to meet your family and to see all of the Hearn family. He was such a dear friend, we shared so many stories and laughs over the 20 plus years.
Jerry taught me about antiques, we shared recipes one of my favorites is his Sister Cha Cha's Pasta. He told me you weren't a fan of it because it was too spicy and that your favorite was his Chicken and Dumplings! So many wonderful memories with both of you.
Our entire family adored him he will be so deeply missed by all.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Jerry. We attended school together at Holly Hill Jr and Mainland High. He worked with my uncle (Joe Laurelli) for many years. I saw him at the store several times over the years. He always had a nice shy looking smile. Good guy, pleasant, friendly, hard worker. Best wishes to his family and friends in these sad times. Peace.

Jerry it’s been almost a month since you left us. I know you are at peace and out of pain forever. Your sudden death affected me and our friends and family deeply. You were such a shining light in our lives that the world is just a little bit darker now. Be at peace my love. I look forward to the day we are reunited. Until then know how loved you are.

Jerry, you were the BEST, at cooking, at decorating, at antiquing, at shopping for the best gifts, at gardening, at celebrating, at styling (especially hair), at smiling, at being the best uncle a kid could have, son, brother, husband and friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️! Forever, your sister in law, Ellie
Hugs to you Bob and peace that passes all understanding ❤️

I have known Jerry for many years. He was such a wonderful guy. We shared a very special friendship that even I cannot explain. We just clicked. We shared phone calls and text messages often; usually when Bob has done something to the dismay of one or both of us. He helped me decide on what shoes to buy or what outfit to wear. He was my DIVA and I was his. I will truly miss his smile and his wit. Until we meet again, rest in peace my Diva, and my FRIEND. I LOVE YOU
