Jimmie McKay Dowd, Sr, 61, of Edgewater died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Dowd was born December 10, 1946 in Atlanta, GA. He was veteran of the US Marine Corp serving three tours of duty during Vietnam. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and life member of the DAV, and American Legion. Jimmie has been a resident of this area since 1990 moving here from New Jersey. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelyn; children, Payton Dowd of West Palm Beach, Jimmie Dowd, Jr of Kannopolis, NC, Angie Pritchett of Maysville, GA, step-daughters, Noel Hall of Ballston Spa, NY and Bonny DeCastro of Schuylerville, NY; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; mother, Marjorie Dowd; two brothers, Lonnie Truelove and Billy Dowd and sisters, Deanie Koslica, Vickie Reese, Debbie Dowd, Ginger Paul and caregiver Daniel Inrgam.
