Obituary

Jimmy Ray Jones, 80 of Oviedo, Florida went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2021 due to complications from COVID 19. Jimmy was born May 16, 1941 in W. Rainelle, WV to Teddy E. Jones and Thelma O’Bryan Jones.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Donna Jane Jones just a short week prior on August 26, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his Father Teddy E Jones, Mother Thelma O’Bryan Jones, and brother Teddy E Jones, Jr.

Jimmy grew up in Summers County, West Virginia until he graduated in 1959 from Hinton High school. After high school he joined the United States Air Force in 1960. Jimmy met the love of his life just a year later in Kansas City, MO. Donna and Jimmy were married on March 24, 1962 and in time had three children. He served in the Vietnam war and continued with the Air force in Shaw AFB, SC. until his retirement in 1984. He proudly retired as a Master Sargent and pursued his career in criminal justice. He was a correction officer in Sumter, SC until he moved to the Orlando, Florida area in 1988. He became a probation officer for the State of Florida and ultimately retired in 2007.

Donna and Jimmy lived a simple but happy life surrounded by friends and family; they were married for a short 59 years. During their life together, they lived in various states where they gained many friends whom they adored in Missouri, Colorado, Texas, South Carolina and then settling down in Oviedo, Florida.

Jimmy is survived by his 3 children: son, James William Jones (Winter Park, FL), daughter Theresa Marie Jones and daughter Janice Rae Jones (Robert Spitler-spouse) of Oviedo, Florida. Jimmy is also survived by his grandchildren; Steven Andrew Graan, Ashleigh Anne Graan (Emilio-spouse), great-grandchildren Lileigh Anne Ovalles and Abel Manuel Ovalles of Casselberry, Florida.  He is also survived by his brother Ronald L. Jones (Sandy) of Waynesboro, VA and sister Joyce Harris of Raleigh, NC along with several nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the States.

Jimmy loved and was loved by his family and friends near and far, he will be greatly missed by all.

Memorial Services will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church located at: 1131 Lockwood Blvd., Oviedo, FL 32765 on October 11, 2021 @11am

Reception will follow the Memorial Service at: Stefanos 1425 Tuscawilla Road Winter Springs 32708 @2pm.

Burial will be at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery: 5525 US-1 Mims, Florida 32754 on October 12, 2021 11am
