A Celebration and a witness to the life and resurrection of Jo Ann Adams Trupiano
Jo Ann Adams Trupiano passed away quietly in her home, surrounded by family, on February 25, 2020, after a brief illness. Jo Ann was born on September 28, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Walter and Irene Adams. Jo Ann was the second of three children. Jo Ann grew up in St. Louis and attended Beaumont High School. She met and married Andrew G. Trupiano on April 8, 1950. Andy and Jo Ann would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this April. Andy and Jo Ann established their home in Florissant, Missouri, where they raised their four children. Jo Ann was the bookkeeper for Andy’s Shell Station in Jennings, Missouri. In 1981, Andy and Jo Ann moved from Florissant to Lake St. Louis, MO, where they opened The O’Fallon Midas, where Jo Ann was the bookkeeper. They retired to The Villages in September of 2004.
Jo Ann was an avid bridge player, bowler, and golfer. During her lifetime, Jo Ann accumulated 11 certified hole-in-ones. She was also a gifted musician, playing the organ for St. Dismas Catholic Church in Florissant for 30 years, this was the true love of her life. Jo Ann played the organ for many weddings and other church services and was honored to play at the St. Louis Cathedral. At 51, Jo Ann battled ovarian cancer. She lost the feeling in her hands and feet due to neuropathy and could no longer play the organ. Upon retiring to The Villages, she served God by becoming a Eucharistic Minister for St. Timothy’s Catholic Church of Lady Lake. She also made rosaries for the church Missionaries. During the hot Florida summers, Jo Ann took art classes at The Villages Lifelong Learning College where she fell in love with charcoal and colored pencils as her favorite mediums.
Jo Ann loved God and His Church above all things, and then her family and parents. Jo Ann loved the beauty of God’s world. She loved to make people happy and was the life of every party—playing the piano and getting everyone to sing along.
