Obituary
On December 14th, 2017 a wonderful woman has passed into her waiting Savior’s arms.
Joan (Jane) Aletha Springer (née Miller) was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on the 30th of June, 1922. She is one of 6 siblings, all passed before her except her youngest brother, Phil who resides in Michigan.
Jane was a loving and giving woman dedicated to her husband, Ralph Edward, who passed in 1997, and her 5 children: James Edward (Atsuko) Lake Worth, FL, Diane Lynn Susalla (Mel) of Poinciana, FL, Mary Kay de Jesus (Armando) of Cumming, GA. Her youngest son, Thomas Edward (b1957) passed before her in 2011.
She leaves 14 grandchildren, 28 grandchildren and one great great grandson, and scores of loving nieces and nephews. Her grandchild, Jayne Erica (b/d1971) is now being rocked in Heaven by her grandma.
Jane was committed to her Roman Catholic Faith. She participated in the Altar Guild, and other auxiliary projects through the church. In addition to raising her 5 children she fostered two children while living in Michigan. Following her husband to Florida in the 80’s they resided in Sebastian Florida where they were active in their homeowners association and multiple projects with their community.
Jane moved into the Mayflower Assisted Living Home after her husband passed. There she crocheted hats for newborns, and taught others how to crochet with only one hand. She was an avid reader and an accomplished crossword solver. While in Michigan she wrote children’s books under a psuedo name.
Jane was always thinking of the other person, she never was cross, never tired of helping out. She was always ready to travel or go the ‘mall.’ She was a tiny, beautiful and blessed woman who was kind to all. We will miss every moment she’s gone, but we cherish the times we were with her.
