Joan L. Friel, 77, of New Smyrna Beach died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center, Edgewater.  Joan was born September 13, 1932 in Hartstown, PA.  She worked for many years as a Research Chemist for Goodyear Corp.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Willlian in 1984 and her six sibilings.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
