Obituary

Born in Tupper Lake, NY on November 30, 1946, JoAnn resided in the Glens Falls area of upstate New York before retiring to The Villages, FL in 2010. A fully dedicated and loving mother, JoAnn was adored by her sons, who enjoyed spending time with her in Florida and on trips to Colorado, California, and around the country. JoAnn had a great sense of style and loved decorating her home, where she could often be found with her nose buried in a book, making jewelry, playing word games, or watching a movie. She was known for her warmhearted spirit, eternal kindness, and infectious smile.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her father, Bernie, and her mother Ruth. She is survived by her two sons, Todd and Dave, her two brothers Mark and Paul, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service is being planned in her honor later this year.

Many of us at Realty USA remember JoAnn fondly. She was a capable Realtor and a genuinely nice person. Her move to The Villages was wise because the winters in our area make it difficult to get out and about and she liked to "get about".
Sincere condolences to her sons and her family.

I missed Joann very much when she moved from our area to The Villages, but I was happy for her as she looked forward and embraced a new lifestyle. She was a wonderful friend. She shared so much about Dave and Todd throughout the years. My sincere sympathy to her family.

    Dear Todd and Dave,
JoAnn was a dear friend, who welcomed us with open arms, when we moved from Maryland to Queensbury, NY in July, 1982. She did so much helping us to orient to the area, hosting a wonderful baby shower for our son, Eric, who was able to attend due to his earlier arrival in August, and hosting birthday parties for me and new friends. Although we departed Queensbury in April, 1991, we continued to keep in touch through birthday cards, emails, phone calls, Christmas cards, and letters. On January, 16, 2016, we were so glad we were able to visit JoAnn at her home in the Villages.
Cherishing the happy memories we did share for many years with a true friend, JoAnn, who was so proud of her sons, Todd and Dave!
Thinking of you at this sad time, hoping that your happy memories of your Mother bring you comfort and peace.
    With sympathy,
    Sue and John Steen

JoAnn was a neighbor for many years. In fact, she sold our house and found us another one. She was thoughtful and easy to work with. Our deepest sympathies, Todd and David.

My, mom, Sandra Cornell was a good friend of JoAnn. I’ve had many occasions growing up where I crossed paths with her. She certainly will be remembered as a warm, kind person who always was smiling. That sentence in the obituary was spot on. I’m sorry David and Todd. She was a wonderful person and will be missed!
