Obituary

Joanne Lucy (Cerino) Greenstein, 61, of Ormond Beach FL, formerly of Fairfield, CT passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia. She is the beloved wife and mother to David and Justin Greenstein and the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Grayce Cerino. Joanne was born June 10, 1952 in Bridgeport, CT and graduated from Andrew Warde High School In 1970 receiving her BS degree from the University of Connecticut in 1974. A truly remarkable woman, Joanne embraced each day with enthusiasm and gave her all to every experience. Joanne loved life and the many friends and family she developed. She accepted a teaching position in Stamford, CT and also held positions with the Town of Monroe, CT as a special education job coach. From there she held various positions in the insurance marketing industry with LIMRA. She also held various positions in the computer industry with Prime Computer and Wang Computer. Most recently she enjoyed her work at Weight Watchers as a receptionist and advocate for the members. She enjoyed counseling others to success. She is the beloved sister of both Grayce (Ed) Perchaluk of Guilford, CT, Margie (Bob) Mingrone of Shelton, CT, the dear aunt of Nancy (Ken) Creasy of Lakeville, MA, Sandy (Tom) McKenna of Wallingford, CT, Janice (Adam) Lehman of Madison, CT, Chris (Michele) Cerino of Chestertown, MD, Todd(Karen) Cerino of Sterling, VA, and Samantha (of Shelton, CT), Joe, Tom and Valerie Mingrove of Shelton, CT and great aunt to several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Ronnie Cerino and her father-in-law Leonard Greenstein. A memorial service will be scheduled at Oasis Church in Ormond Beach FL under the direction of Pastor Gary Powell. Services will also be scheduled in Connecticut.     I was deeply saddened to see in the paper of Joanne’s passing. She was a wonderfully bright, cheerful woman full of vitality and a significant influence for good in other peoples’ lives. I have and will miss her a great deal though the time I knew her was short. It was a privilege to have known her.

    We share in this terrible loss with you and Justin and all that knew and loved Joanne. Our hearts break for you but we know through our faith that the Lord brought her home so she didn't have to suffer any longer. She is now free of this terrible disease.We will continue to pray for her and for you that you will find peace and that you will be strong through the days ahead.
