Obituary

Celebration of Life Tribute for Joanne M Nelson, 68, Edgewater Landing who died Monday, March 15, 2010 will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 20 at Hospice of Volusia Southeast Care Center 4140 South Ridgewood Ave Edgewater FL. Joanne was born in Rhode Island and came to this area in 2009 from Exeter, RI. She worked for many years as an information technologist with Metropolitan Life Insurance, Stanley Bostitch and APC. She held memberships in many quilting guilds and the Red Hat Society. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years John daughters Dianne Albro of Exeter, RI, Christine Seymour of North Kingston, RI, a brother James E Gavitt of Warwick, RI, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.   Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Volusia Southeast Care Center 4140 South Ridgewood Ave Edgewater FL 32141.

    Don and I always think of Joanne and John every year since they gave us all the forsyth which flower at the first of the Spring on our property.

    I worked with Joanne while she was part of the payroll department at Bostitch and she was always a great help to all of us. My thoughts are with all of you during this hard time.

    I worked with Joanne at Bostitch too. She was always so up beat and enjoying everything. She always made me smile. I remember the pool party, such a Great Time. She and John were excellent hosts. She was so excited about the Corvette too. I saw them at the Balloon Fest at URI one summer. She made me laugh. She was a Very Nice lady. She will be missed. She is in a Better Place now and I'm sure They are smiling along with her. John and family please except my condolences. Rest in Peace Joanne.

    Kim and I were saddened to learn of Joannes passing and wanted to extend to you our sincere condolences. No words can ease the pain you are experiencing now but we wanted you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Since the beginning of our involvement with the Corvette Club you guys were always there extending your home, hospitality, friendship, humor and ideas which helped make the club what it was and is today. We will always cherish the many special times we shared, from the pool parties to October-Vettes and other club events, and parties. Again our sincere condolences.

    My sympathies to all. I too worked with Joanne at Bostitch. Before moving to NSB, Joanne and I would often meet in Stop and Shop in North Kingstown and have long conversations about the past. Joanne was a thoughtful and kind person, always ready to share a laugh. Thoughts and prayers go out to you at this sad time.

    We want to extend our sympathies to John and family. When we joined CCRI Joanne was one of the first people we spoke with. She was always so friendly. I use to enjoy seeing her at the wheel of her Corvette with John in the passenger seat and that great RI license plate, CCRI. We are truly sorry to hear of her passing.

    I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news about Joanne. Having worked with her for years at Bostich and planning those fab pool parties with her, we always had so much fun working 2nd and 3rd shift together. She was just the best. My deepest sympathies go out to John and the girls as she will be misses very much.

    I worked with Joanne at Bostitch and we have kept in touch after leaving. I still remember the pool parties she and John would host for her co-workers. She was a good friend and will be missed very much.
