Obituary
On Sunday evening, August 28, 2022, Joe Calvin Frantz took his last breath on this earth and met his Lord Jesus.
Born in Enid, Oklahoma on March 11, 1947, he was the son of Reuben and Beulah Frantz.
A resident of Ocala, FL since 1979, he worked in cabinetry and hand crafted wood working, served as chaplain at Mark III Industries, and in 1988 became owner of a Christian bookstore. Christian Market Square served the Ocala community for 14 years where Joe ministered to and impacted thousands of lives for Christ.
His later years were spent deepening his walk with the Lord and furthering the Kingdom by writing, designing, and printing a Gospel booklet which has been distributed by the thousands personally, locally, as well as internationally.
Joe was welcomed into heaven by his parents and older brother, Ken, and awaits the homecoming of his wife of 50 years, Melinda, younger brother Gene, daughter and husband Jill and Josh Putty, son Josh, daughter and husband Jodie and Aaron Johnson, as well as 7 grandchildren, Camille, Kaylin, and Lincoln Putty, Eli Frantz, Felicity, Juliet, and Genesis Johnson, who all know him as “Poppy.”
His life truly was a vessel used by and for God to bring HIM alone honor and glory.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at City Light Church in Ocala on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 3:00pm. All are welcome.
