Obituary
John Daniel Hitzler, 62, of Fort Myers Beach, passed away May 06, 2021 at Lee Memorial Health Park Hospital, in Fort Myers Beach, FL. Born March 22, 1959 in Chicago, IL and raised in Park Ridge, IL. He was the son of William J. and Joan B. Hitzler. Surviving are his brothers, William (Carolyn) Hitzler III, Thomas Hitzler, sisters, Diane Edelson, Dorann Swanson, Suzanne (Ed) Nemec, nephews, Michael (Anna) Edelson, Andrew Hitzler, niece, Cory (Tyler) Tatum, Kelsey Swanson, great nephew Bradyn and great niece Charlotte.
John (Johnny) had a big heart and loved spending time with his family and friends. He shared his fathers passion for fishing. He learned to fish at a very young age and continued throughout his life. Johns other passion was riding his Harley Davidson. He loved the freedom of riding and the open road. We hope on his final ride he found eternal happiness and as he looks back, he knows there are many family and friends who love him and will miss him greatly.
Visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2021, from 10:00am – 11:00am, at St. Gilbert’s Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL., 60030. Mass will follow at 11:00am.
