John was raised in Dorchester, Mass., where he attended St. Gregory grammar school and Cathedral High School, graduating in 1957. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman Operating Room Technician. John will be remembered as a kind and gentle man and always wanted to help others. He had the ability to master every new technology that he encountered and enjoyed inventing things to solve everyday problems.John retired from a long and diverse career in nursing, and the real successes of his work were the many men and women whose lives he touched in his nursing career.
He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle words when people needed to hear them the
most. During his lifetime he held many callings, and he followed many different paths in many
different occupations; but the one that provided him with the most personal satisfaction was that of registered nurse.
John held a license as a Commercial Pilot, with single and multi-engine instrument ratings. He also participated as a member of the ARRL (American Radio Relay League), and the DBARA (Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association, Inc.) as AK4NX.
