Saxe, John G. 76 of Dunnellon FL passed away Sept. 10, 2014 at his home. He was born in Madison WI on Feb. 21, 1938. John was a Veteran of the US Air Force, and he was in active service four and a half years. He taught English and History in WI before retiring to FL in 2000. John loved golf and also coached high school golf at Darlington High School, WI. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and belonged to the Citrus County Cruisers, and also the National Coastal Corvair Club. Through those Clubs he made many friends, too numerous to mention. John was married to Carol Stangler in 1962, and had two daughters, Tracy (Timm) Gardner, and Denise (Kurt) Zalewski both of WI. He then married Karen Taylor Smith on Dec. 16, 1979, and became Step-Father to Michele (Michael) Mallinger and Bradley (Wendy) Smith. John is also survived by four siblings, Ally (Ed) Lockman, Patrick (Kathy) Saxe, Susan (Bill) Vest, and Kathleen (Laura); seven adored grandchildren and one precious great-grand son and several nieces and nephews.
We just heard the news. Our prayers are with you at this difficult time. I know Bob and John had a very nice afternoon together this summer. Just chatting on the back porch and enjoying the day. We will miss him a lot, and we are here for you!
Eternal Rest grant unto him O Lord and Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Amen
(In the good old days!) My sympathies to your family............both Jim and I have you in our thoughts and prayers.
