Obituary
Joe (John Lyle) Grommersch, age 50, of Port Orange, Florida joined his Dad in heaven on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at Gatorback Trailer Sales & Service in Port Orange on Saturday, September 11th from 1-4pm. A second Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 15th at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The service will be livestreamed at: hosannamain.online.church. Lunch will follow at the Eagle Lake Legion Club.
Joe, the son of Linda Wolff and John Grommersch, was born on August 8, 1971 in Mankato, MN. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1989, then served in the United State Marine Corp during Operation Desert Storm. He worked as the sales manager at Mankato Harley Davidson for 13 years. Joe and Staci Torkelson were married in 2005, and their marriage was blessed with Izzy and Jack. In 2017 Joe and his family moved to Port Orange, Florida following their dream to start their own business. This dream became reality in Gatorback Trailer Sales and Service.
Joe enjoyed riding his Harley and dirt bikes, pontoon riding on Lake Ballantyne when visiting Minnesota and sitting around campfires. He especially loved supporting Izzy in Cheer and coaching Jack in dirt bike racing. Joe was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind so many friends who truly love him.
Joe is survived by his wife and best friend, Staci; their children, Izzy and Jack; mother, Linda Wolff; father, John Grommersch; sister, Molly Loe (Tom); stepsisters, Michelle (Steve) Schwartz and Kristie Pittmann (Ken); stepbrothers, Mitch Wolff, Dennis (BethAnn) Wolff, Peter (Deb) Wolff and Brian (Tricia) Wolff; stepmother, Vicky Beckmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Barb Torkelson; sister-in-law, Tara Torkelson (Mike); aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, Wally Wolff, and his grandparents.
