LeLASHER

John “Jack” James, Jr., age 86, of Daytona Beach, FL, formerly of Durham, CT, entered eternal life on Sunday, March4, 2018.

Jack was born in Hamden, CT, the son of the late John J. and Gladys LeLasher.  He served his Country in the US Navy during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.  Jack worked and retired from SNET. He enjoyed many years as a member of the New Haven Racoon Club where he enjoyed fishing, shooting, and camping with his family and friends.  Most important to Jack was his family and friends, fond memories of many neighborhood block parties, traveling to Florida annually and ultimately retiring there.  He loved cribbage, card games, music and reading.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Doyle LeLasher, the mother of his children, and his second wife Connie.  He is survived by his four children, Suzanne Fowler of Otisfield, ME; Sharon Shettleworth and her husband Paul, of Middletown, CT; John LeLasher and his wife Teri, of South Daytona Beach, FL; and Kevin LeLasher and his wife Amy, of Glastonbury, CT. In addition, nine grandchildren, Brittany, Eric, Meghan, Katelyn, Michael, Patricia, John, Sean and Kate.  His sister, Phyllis Robbins, of Altoona, PA; many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He will also be missed by his dog, “Jackie”.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 19th, 2018 at 10 AM at Saint Pius X Church in Middletown, CT immediately followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, CT.
