Obituary
John (Jack) Lee Burda
March 3, 1959 – April 30, 2023
John (Jack) Burda was born March 3, 1959 in Garfield Heights, Ohio. His dream was to retire to Florida, which he and his wife, Diane, were able to do in October, 2019. They spent the next three years traveling. Travel was always something he enjoyed, and we made sure to take our family trips every year while he was working.
Jack worked for First Energy in Cleveland, Ohio for 34 years.
Jack was very proud of the accomplishments of his children. He was encouraging to them and Diane, in their personal interests. Jack loved animals, and took care of the dogs we had. He liked to work in the yard, and loved taking rides on the golf cart. He enjoyed the beach, the pool, and food! He made the best chicken marsala and beef sliders. He cooked all his life and made sure the meals included a vegetable. He made many friends in Florida, and touched a lot of people with his humor and sincerity. He became the knowledgeable go to of Fiddlewood. He read all the time and knew so much!
Unfortunately, he passed away on April 30, 2023, after battling a very aggressive cancer. His wife of 41 years – Diane, and sons Patrick and Nathan are devastated. He is with the angels now. The family would like to thank Hope Hospice of Cape Coral for keeping him comfortable, and the nurses and doctors at Gulf Coast for their care.
There will be a celebration of his life at the Millennial Brewing Company in Fort Myers, Florida on May 30 at 4:00 – 8:00, and a celebration of life at Jolly’s Pizza & Scholarly Brewing in North Royalton, Ohio on June 17 at 3:00-7:00. All friends and family are invited.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue, in Jack’s remembrance. Thank you.
