IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN COLLAMORE KIRCHNER
John Collamore Kirchner fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2024. He was born on September 15, 1970 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the son of John and Barbara Kirchner of Winter Park, Florida. He is survived by his sister, Katherine Palceski, his two nieces Ella (20) and Ava (18) who he adored and affectionately called “The Monkeys”, and a group of the most amazing and loyal friends who he lovingly referred to as his brothers. As a child, John lived in New York City before moving to Winter Park, Florida in 1976 where he spent the rest of years. John briefly attended Brandon Hall Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, he was injured in a car accident on February 20, 1988 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. For many, this would have marked a period of darkness, but for John it marked the beginning of a life full of deeper meaning and great adventures. John became a devout Christian and motivational speaker devoting his life to sharing his story and motivating others with his upbeat attitude and positive messages. John was the owner and creator of A+ HomeAide, a nursing agency that specialized in providing care to people with spinal injuries. He was also an accomplished author having written and published a book entitled “Roll With Me” in which he eloquently shared his own experiences and views from his always funny and glass-half-full perspective. His love of story-telling and gift-of-gab led him to being a highly celebrated and multi-award winning public speaker for Toast Masters. He devoted the majority of his adult life to his craft, sharing his story and the many stories of his family and friends with others. Though his body didn’t work as he often wished it could, it never stopped him from going after his dreams. With the help of his ever-devoted friends and his unstoppable attitude, John was able to travel the world visiting nearly every continent. Both pre and post-injury, John was always adventurous with an insatiable zest for life. He went sky diving eighteen times, shark diving, and even flew in a MIG fighter jet. He was always ready and eager for the next adventure. As John enters into the greatest adventure in the Kingdom of God, may his memory be eternal in the lives of all who knew him.
I give you this one thought to keep –
I am with you still – I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone –
I am with you still – in each new dawn.
“God shines His blessings and favors upon me with every breath I take. The one thing that I know that is truly the most important thing in my life is my relationship with our one true God and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who is my Lord and Savior.” – John C. Kirchner
