John “Jack” L Lobdell, 88, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011. He was born on February 26, 1922 in East Orange, New Jersey to John N Lobdell and Helen Larter Lobdell. Jack served his country proudly in the Navy while stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station during the WWII. He enjoyed golf, sailing, skiing, mediation, community service and reading. Jack resided in New Smyrna Beach for over 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Vera; his son, John and wife Nancy of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Sarah (Chris) Meany and Katherine (Jason) Prechter both of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; sister, Helen Muniz of Maplewood, New Jersey.
A Life Celebration in his honor will be held Friday, February 18, 2011 from 10:00am to 12:00 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Chapel, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach.
