Obituary
John D. Lent, 82 of Venice Fl. Passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 10, 2023, after a short battle with cancer with his wife by his side. Born on April 13, 1940, he was the son of the late John (Bud) and Cherry (Cowles) Lent.
Dave, as he was known by many, married Linda Sumner in Nov. 1968. After residing in the Hadley/Corinth N.Y. area for many years, he recently made his decision to make Venice Fl. His home where he enjoyed the warm sunshiny days.

When his children were young, he used to make weekend trips to Long Lake, NY enjoying campouts at his family’s camp. When the children grew older and had different interests, Dave took up his joy of fishing on Lake Ontario, searching for those king salmon every weekend! Making many friends along the way.
When his retirement finally took hold for him, he made the move in his winter months for warmer weather in Florida, where he enjoyed his stay in Venice, Fl. Dave enjoyed his weekly sunshiny walks along the Gulf of Mexico and his bike rides around the park.
Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by his son John Lent Jr., brother-in-law Michael DeJoseph, and sister-in-law Ethel Lent.

When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room!
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not for long and nor with your head bowed low!
Remember the love that once we shared, miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take and each must go it alone. It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deed,
miss me but let me go.
