Now God has called you home. Rest easy, Brother.
No matter how rough things got you always had that great attitude.
AIRBORNE!
I'm proud to have known you, Compadre, fellow Army Veteran.
It was always good and uplifting to speak with John.
He will be missed.
I'm proud to have known you.
I will remember Mendez as my friend, and as a proud Paratrooper, a decorated combat soldier,, and for the times we served together. I enjoyed the good times we spent over the years at the 173d reunions. I feel honored to have known and served with him. Tonight I will be raising a glass and thinking of him up there in heaven. My condolence. Airborne All The Way! "And then some".
May God give you peace and to your family.
