Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mike on April 27 with his family and friends by his side.
Mike was born in DeLand on May 13, 1947 to Jack and Martha Lynn.
He joined the Navy at age 17, serving for 8 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Dianne Barnes in Norfolk, VA in 1971. Mike and Dianne moved back to Florida where he took a position with Southern Wine and Spirits as a salesman, retiring after forty years of service in 2013.
Mike was predeceased by his mother and father.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Dianne, daughter, Debbie Norton (Max), sister Pattie Godwin (Jeff Kirkland), brothers, Gus (Mandee), Dennis and Sam, step mother Francis, sister in law Susan Polizzi (Bob), 5 nieces & nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his uplifting childhood friends, Randy Palmer, Frank Giumarra and Steve Nash. Services will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 3 pm at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Port Orange.     Dear Dianne: I am so sorry for your loss. So many times in this last week or so I have thought of you. I feel as tho I should have gotten on the elevator with you the day that I saw you in the hospital. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. Call me 788-5939.     We are going to miss Mike and offer our heartfelt condolences to Dianne, Debbie and the rest of Mikes family and other friends, We have spent a lot of time thinking about all the good times we had with Mike and Dianne. They were truly some of the best times of our life. We are here for you Dianne. Hold tight to your memories and know there are many of us to help you.

    I had the great pleasure of working with Mike for 5 years at SWS. He taught me so much that I still use today! I remember talking, laughing and just the great comoraderie. His influence was far greater than he could have imagined. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed!
