Obituary
John Patrick Kieran Donahue (Jack) (71) passed away peacefully at home with family on Sunday, December 17th, 2023. He fought the good fight, as most of you know. He was on a first name basis with many of the doctors, nurses, assistants, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries, and they became family to us. We thank them for their care and kindness over the years.
Jack was born on October 13th, 1952 – the date “the sun danced”. He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church/School in Pittston, PA and graduated from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA, with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. He was a part of the first co-education class at the University. He was truly a “Jack” of all trades and spent his life caring for others with his food, wisdom, and jokes. He loved his family, faith, music, art, and teaching. Nearly everyone Jack met became a friend; his compassion and unselfishness will never be matched. He was truly the best person we will ever know.
Jack was predeceased by his father, John P. Donahue (Red), Mother Anna Rosalia Tigue (Nan), sister Catherine Ann Marie Gallagher (Joe), and sister Shirley Jean Styles (Gene). He is survived by his wife Charlotte Joyce Donahue (Smith), grandson Zachary Alan Kausch (Rachel), and brothers Robert Thomas Donahue and Joseph Gierad Donahue (Susan). He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews Noell Mancini (Mark), Thomas Gallagher, Joey Gallagher (Kelly), Robby Donahue (Yamilet), Anna Rose Donahue, Julia Donahue, Joseph Donahue (Stephanie), Katie Donahue, Erin Donahue, Micha Reed (Monica), Diane Clemons (Chris); children/grandchildren by marriage Julie Christine Biehl (Zachary Kausch), Charlotte Jean Pendleton (James) (Emerson and Amber Pendleton) James Russell Goforth (Erin) (Lyndz Kelly and Taylor Goforth); grandnieces and grandnephews David Mancini (Tia), Brianna and Selina Gallagher, Catherine and Nora Gallagher, Bryn, Joseph and Thomas Donahue, Lincoln Perdomo, Brianna Albrecht (Steven) (Rhett Albrecht), Logan Reed (Presley), Scott and Kyle Breeding, and Kieran Donahue.
