Obituary
John Peter Minalgo, age 66, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Cape Coral Hospital. John was born on September 18, 1956, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was the son of the late William Minalgo and Celestine Verzaro.
John graduated from Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, Connecticut and then enlisted in the Marines serving from 1974 to 1976 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. John was a carpenter/remodeler (John Minalgo and Sons) for 50 years and remodeled homes in Connecticut and Florida. He was an active member of the VA, and he was a fabulous cook, along with a passion for gardening.
John resided in Cape Coral, Florida for eight years and was previously from Newtown, Connecticut. He was a man of great faith and lived everyday by his serenity prayer and truly believed in one day at a time. He will long be remembered for all his generosity to all in need, but most of all, for his unselfish love and kindness he so freely gave to all.
John was married in Key West to his beloved wife of 20 years, Patricia Minalgo, who resides in Cape Coral.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Jay and Joel; and his brother, Stephen; father-in-law, Paul; and brother-in-law, Ken.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Jesse and his wife Poey; two grandsons, Blake and Zach; daughter, Jodi; grandsons, Jack and Luke; daughter, Jaime and her husband Jesse; granddaughter, Lucy; brother-in-law, Rick and his wife Jane; two step-sons, Kenneth and Christopher; aunt, Pat; cousin, Donna; and aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 1320 SE 6th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33990.
