Obituary

John R. McMahon Jr., age 71, of Summerfield, FL, passed away January 17th, 2020 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

John is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Lynda of Summerfield, FL; a daughter Kimberly and her spouse Gerald Martin of Lisbon, NY; a son John McMahon and his companion Sheri Eurto of Norfolk, NY; two granddaughters Sierra and her spouse Matthew Moran of New Ipswich, NH and Kali Martin of Lisbon, NY; a grandson Alex Martin of Lisbon, NY; three great grandchildren Carter, Amelia, and Abigail of New Ipswich, NH. Four brothers; Leonard McMahon and his spouse Judy McMahon of Summerfield, FL, David McMahon and his spouse Joyce McMahon of Lisbon, NY, Daniel McMahon and Rhonda McMahon of Ohio, and Randy McMahon and spouse Rebecca McMahon of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his father John Raymond McMahon; his mother Ircel Jean McMahon; and his brothers Ronald, Douglas, and Michael McMahon.

John was born on May 17th, 1949. He graduated from Lisbon Central School. He married Lynda Corona on April 22nd, 1971 in Syracuse, NY. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion in Florida. He was employed by General Motors in Massena, NY, NYS Corrections, and had his own construction business while living in New York. In the last year, John had become a licensed real estate agent to join his wife Lynda, as a team they called the “singing agents”.

After moving to Florida eight years ago from New York, John spent much of his time on the golf course with his many beloved friends. John loved to sing and would attend karaoke nights at various locations and even had a karaoke system set up in his home. John enjoyed his life in Florida with his many special friends and coworkers. He will be greatly missed by all.
