Obituary
Jose G. Palomino was born in Lima, Peru in 1936. He immigrated to the United States in the 1960s where he used his skills as an automobile mechanic, until his retirement. He married Josefina Rosa in 1989 and lived in the Bronx, NY until 2018 when they relocated to Ocala, Florida.
Jose had two loves: soccer and family – especially his granddaughter, Gabbie. Those two loves intermingled in a moment that lives on. Gabbie’s first word was “GOAL!”, learned, no doubt, from spending hours of watching games with him.
He was married to the love of his life, Josefina, for 33 years, before she passed in 2019. Most people who knew them have fond memories of Jose and Josefina dancing countless Saturday nights away.
Jose was kind, playful, loving, and loyal. He would light up a room with his laugh and his dry humor. Those around him say that he was generous and cared about another’s well-being more than his own. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends (which he made far and wide), and the caring staff of the home where he spent his final years.
Jose is survived by his daughters, Joanna Vazquez and Julissa De Leon, and his granddaughter, Gabrielle De Leon.
Visitation for Jose will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 2:00 PM until the time of his Prayer Service at 3:30 PM in the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation Society, Heritage Place Chapel, 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Suite 200, Ocala, Florida 34470. PH: 352-236-5884.
