Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Guziak Jr, 72, a proud Navy veteran, died October 16th, 2023.

He was the husband of Lillian (Williams) Guziak.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania he was a son of the late Joseph A. Sr and Forestine (Marston) Guziak.

He was a 1969 graduate of Reading High School who then enlisted in the Navy. Joe spent nearly his entire 20+ year naval career as a missile technician on nuclear submarines. Joe served during Vietnam and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and Submarine Deterrent Patrol Pin.

After his retirement, he spent several years as a security guard where he met his wife. They were married December 23rd, 1993. Joe also worked as an air conditioning technician, after using his GI Bill, and retired after supporting the maintenance operations for several local companies.

He loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles and spending time with family. He also enjoyed playing darts, cribbage and farkle.

Joe is also survived by his daughter Deneva and 3 step-sons (Phillip, James, Christian), 1 grandson and 3 granddaughters.

Other survivors include 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Janet (Guziak) Kreider and Cheryl “CJ” (Guziak) Warczyglowa.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday November 19th from 11 am until 1 pm at the Titusville Elks Lodge at 3450 Kilmarnoch Lane, Titusville, FL 32780.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Toys for Tots or the American Legion.
