Obituary

Joseph Vincent Cardillo, Jr. of The Villages, Florida, devoted husband and father, was called home peacefully to the Lord on August 4, 2023.  He was the devoted husband of Linda Ann (Frantantuono) Cardillo for 53 years. Mr. Cardillo was the son of the late Joseph Vincent Cardillo Sr. and Madeline V. (Carroll) Cardillo.  Mr. Cardillo was a 1960 graduate of Cranston High School and a graduate of Rhode Island College in 1974 where he received a Masters in Teaching.
  Mr. Cardillo was employed for 31 years by the State of Rhode Island government in various positions including the Theodore Francis Green Airport and the Department of Administration’s Office of Health and Safety. Every Saturday Mr. Cardillo was employed as a master barber at his father’s barber shop in Cranston.
  He served as a Seaman Apprentice in the United States Navy.  Mr. Cardillo was an ardent reader of history. He also loved his Catholic religion and served as an altar server at St, Vincent de Paul Church in Wildwood, Florida. When living in Rhode Island he served as a Eucharistic Minister bringing Holy Communion to the sick. Mr. Cardillo volunteered his time working at a soup kitchen in Providence.  Mr. Cardillo is survived by his son, Gian Cardillo of Florida. He also leaves a sister, Cathy A. DeLuca, her husband Carmine of Cranston, and a niece, Brianna DeLuca of Cranston.
  A requiem mass of Christian Burial will take place at St, Vincent De Paul Church in Wildwood, Florida 9n September 21, 2023 at 1p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5323 E County Rd 462, Wildwood, FL 34785.
