Obituary

Joseph R. Cozzi 79 of New Smyrna Beach, Florida passed away October 28, 2023 at home after a long illness.

He was born January 1, 1944 in New Haven Connecticut to Alphonso and Helen (Brooks) Cozzi. Joe spent 61 years as a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 478.  He enjoyed riding Harleys, golfing with his children and friends and was a long time Raiders fan.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Debbie Cozzi, his sister Mary Cifferelli of Hamden Connecticut and his children Marlene (Pete) West of South Windsor CT, Katherine (Ronnie) Suraci of Clinton CT, Heather (Frank) Ovchar of Clinton CT, Zachary (Jillian) Cozzi of Middlefield CT, Joshua (Kelly) Cozzi of Wallingford CT and Nicholas (Michelle) Cozzi of Old Saybrook CT. He had 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his parents and his brother William Cozzi.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life in Connecticut. Details to follow.
