Joseph Hugh Gibson passed away March 9, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1965, in Fort Myers, FL and was the youngest of 9 children. He is predeceased in death by his parents Romulus “Hoot” and Martha Gibson and his three older brothers, Bobby, John and Tom. He is survived by his wife Jan Walker, her children Tim (Joyce), Brynn (Daniel); sisters Susan Stone, Martha (Jim) Whitten, Mary Sharp, Jane (Darryl) Lloyd, Ruth Mahn; nieces Natalie, Samantha, Anna, Caity, Bethany; nephews Thomas (Krystal), Matthew, Casey, Raleigh, Adam, Jake, Joe (Stella); 4 great nieces Brooklyn, Kryslyn, Kaylyn, Leah, 3 great nephews Braylen, Jaxon, Sebastian; Uncle Tommie Jr. (Verna); cousin Charlie (Tolley) Graves and many more cousins; and best friend Gene (Tami) Rogers.

Joe is a 1984 graduate of Fort Myers High School, worked in the wholesale flower business for most of his life then started his own sound business Jet Productions in 2009. After selling Jet Productions he worked part time delivering parts for Napa Auto Parts.

Joe touched so many people’s lives with his humor and guidance. Knowing him was a blessing. Even in all of his health battles, Joe was always a beacon of light to everyone around him and kept smiling through it all. He is a soul that we lost too soon but he will continue to live on through each of us.

Joe’s service will be held on Saturday, March 19th at Broadway Community Church at 10 am. The celebration will continue at the Church Hall immediately following the service. Joe’s wish was for all donations to be made to Broadway Community Church.

I am so thankful for this last visit with you Joe and your family at the tail end of 2016. You were my best man at my wedding to your sister Mary (2004) and I will always cherish that day, especially while I was there without friends or family. You will always be a brother-in-law to me, rest in peace my friend. We'll meet again one day.

Joe was the most positive person I believe I have ever known. As he battled illnesses over many years, he always had a smile and always expected the best outcome. He showed us all all what faith in the Lord can do to keep your spirits up. I love him and miss him.
