Obituary

In loving memory of Joseph Michael Gruninger. He is survived by his sisters Alice Mary Gruninger & Marilyn Linton, nephews Jason, Christopher & Marc Kocienda & niece Jessica LaForge.

Words cannot express the emptiness that is felt in our hearts at the passing of a truly wonderful & kind man who gave so much of himself to help others.

Joseph, you will be so missed by so many, and the only comfort found by those who remain, is that you are now out of pain & you are free.

Will miss you my friend! All the calls, laughs and sometimes sad! But we always remained friends. You will always have a special place in my heart! ❤️

For a brother who didn't want another girl in the family, Joe taught me all the things he could. Like boxing, wrestling, street fighting, sports, weight lifting, & most importantly, to go as far as I could in education. He said without it, I would be a cripple in the worlds turning tides. There is so much I could say about my brother, but words just can't fall into place right now. We were always on the phone with each other. Every day, every other day. 2 or 3 times a day. Because of Covid, I didn't get to fly down to Florida & I guess that hurts a lot of families. But I am so sad that I didn't get to see him before he passed. I will miss you so much Joe. I still find myself reaching for the phone to call you. I know that you are in heaven & still watching as the protective brother that you are. As stated above, the only consolation that I have is knowing that you are now out of discomfort & pain. And you are free. I love you, & if my tears could build a ladder to heaven, I would bring you back again.

It was fun growing up with you Joe. I’ve known you since 5 yrs old. And you did get me a couple of spankings from my parents. But that’s all kids stuff.I plead the blood of Christ over you and that you may Rest In Peace in Heaven- Richard Pomisel
