Joseph Owen Horton March 9, 1951- September 29, 2021
Sadly, Joseph Horton (age 70) lost his battle on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Joe spent the last 6 years of his life living with cancer and creating wonderful memories with his family. He died peacefully at home with his wife, Bernie, by his side.
Joe was born in Palm Springs, CA, the youngest child of the late Alan and Rowena (Raye) Horton. In 1979 he met the love of his life, Bernardine Davis and her son Jimmy. Together they relocated to New Smyrna Beach, Florida and opened SEAFOX, a women’s Boutique on Flagler Avenue which they operated together for 38 wonderful years.
Joe was a contractor, a carpenter, successful businessman, husband, brother, dad, father in law, grumpa, and a friend. He was an avid golfer and a long time member of Sugar Mill Country Club.
Left to celebrate and honor his life are his wife Bernie Davis, son Jimmy (Kathy) Davis of New Smyrna Beach, granddaughter Jamie Davis of Maryville, TN, sister Janice Horton of Palm Springs CA, and long time friend Bonnie Wheeler of Orlando, as well as many friends and SEAFOX customers.
