Obituary
Joseph William Meaney, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed to heaven late Easter evening. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia May Meaney (nee Plonsky).
Originally from Wolcott, CT they resided in Florida.
Joseph had 6 children by his previous marriage. They are Joel Meaney, Kimberly Meaney Kuklis, of Homer Alaska, Melissa Meaney Ranaudo, Tricia Meaney, Christopher Meaney (deceased), and Matthew Meaney. He had 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Joe was a respected and loved Principal in the Waterbury school system. Upon retirement he worked for Catholic schools for 6 more years. He also worked as a lifeguard for the Waterbury Parks Dept. He loved swimming, boating and the beach. He was also a member of the Elks club for 53 years.

Mr. Meaney was my teacher at Woodrow Wilson School. He was a wonderful teacher. Mr. Meaney was firm but cared greatly for his students. He inspired me to read all that I could and learn all that I could. I am forever in his debt for his inspiration.
