Obituary
Josephine Facchini DeCandia 84, of Port Orange, Fl. formerly of Boca Raton, Fl and New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Josephine “Jo” was born in Hoboken, New Jersey to the late Joseph and
Emelia Facchini.
“Jo” was married for 58 years to her beloved Michael and survived by their 3 children. Their oldest son Gennaro DeCandia; daughter Roseann Flowers, her husband Tom, and their 2 children, Thomas and Melissa; youngest son Joseph DeCandia, his wife Trena, and their 2 sons, William and Michael; her sister, Lucy Cimillo and her husband, Tony; her brother-in-law Thomas DeCandia, plus many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
In loving memory, her late sister, Lucretia Laird (Harrison Laird), and in-law siblings, Theresa DeCandia, Angela Abbattista and Sergio DeCandia.
As a young girl, (Jo) sang at the Small Carney Concert Hall in New York City, and loved being on stage in school musicals. She loved her family, & friends with her whole heart and soul. Over the years, Jo & Mike enjoyed many moments picnicking at the beach to watch a sunrise, traveling on cruise ships, spending time with their Grandchildren, and loving their dogs. She loved to sing, dance, work on arts and crafts projects, and listening to music. Her Mia was the love of her life after her Mike was no longer with her. Jo was giving and kind and always made everyone feel welcomed.
Family is planning a Mass blessing of her ashes in the next few weeks. A spreading of her ashes (together with her husband, Michael), and a celebration of life will be discussed at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, the family feels money would be more welcomed as donations made to The Cancer Society or any other organization of choice.
