Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Joshua. Joshua Scott Chase passed away on January 21, 2021. Joshua was born on May 29, 1987 to Scott Marvin Chase currently of West Palm Beach and Melissa Marie Cross currently of North Fort Myers. He is the big brother to Jessica Marie Miles and Christina Elizabeth Miles, of North Fort Myers. He recently taught Christina how to make his infamous goulash, which she is very thankful for. Jessica has absorbed his love of fishing and they would often spend time fishing together. The three of them recently spent the day on a boat fishing and hanging out, it will be a fond memory that will stay with them forever.
He was immensely proud of his business that he was able to launch with his father January 9, 2019, Chase Communications and Securities, LLC. He was a perfectionist and would spend hours making sure everything was done well, that every “t” was crossed and every “i” was dotted. It was a painful loss when NYS was closed to “non-essential” businesses, all businesses are essential to those that need them.
He was single and unlike most single men his age, he volunteered to help others. His favorite type of organization was anything to help our veterans, especially one called Project Healing Waters. He was highly active in this organization in Upstate NY prior to moving to Florida and he had recently connected with a local group here.
His favorite hobby was to go fishing, fly fishing, pier fishing, deep sea fishing, tying fly’s, playing guitar and video games, and at the end of the day, some more fishing. He was often the first to laugh or make other laugh as his sense of humor was contagious. He has the most beautiful smile and perfect teeth, and stunning blue-gray eyes that would see into your soul. He loved dogs but above all he loved his family.
He is survived by his Father Scott (Kathie) Chase of West Palm Beach, Mother Melissa (Kenny) Cross of North Fort Myer, sisters Jessica & Christine Miles of North Fort Myers, Paternal grandparents Marvin & Linda Chase of Norwich, NY, Maternal Grandmother Linda (Larry)Lasko, Aunt Tamara (Richard) Cobb, Oxford, NY, Uncle Shawn Chase, Cobleskill, NY, Aunt Christine (Mark) Wienberg, Monroe, NY, Uncle Jimmy Bender, Fort Myers, FL and many cousins.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 12:00-2:00PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society,4320 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33966.
