Joyce C. (Cundiff) Childress, 83, of Orlando, FL passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, after a long illness.
Joyce was born on February 23, 1938, in East Bank, West Virginia. She was a graduate of East Bank High School, class of 1956. After graduation, she started her career at C&P Telephone Company, which later became AT&T, where she retired with over 35 years of service.

She lived in Arlington, Virginia for several years before relocating to Florida in the late 70’s. After retiring from AT&T, she decided to go to work at Walt Disney World and retired a second time with over a decade of service.
Joyce loved to travel, go on cruises, was an avid reader, and liked to stay active.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mike (Beverly) Calhoun of Roanoke, VA; grandson, Jason (Kirsten) Calhoun of Riner, VA; great-grandchildren, Brenan Poff and Canyon Calhoun.

Joyce was preceded in death by her late husband, Garrett Childress; parents, Clarence and Lurah Cundiff; siblings, Helen Kelley, Earl Cundiff, Shirley Macleery, Harold Cundiff, Alma Spaulding, Ruth Ann Cundiff, and Tom Cundiff.
A private service will be held at a later date.

    Parents are a special blessing and so is a loving son, the battle belongs to the Lord, love and prayers to my Uncle and Aunt, you were very good guardians to her!!
