Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Joyce Adair Nico
Joyce passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, at age 94 in her Orlando home amongst friends and loved ones.
Joyce was born in Three Rivers, Michigan on November 7, 1926, to Marguarite R Moore and Faye Lavern Bent. She later moved to Lansing, Michigan where she attended Sexton High School and met the love of her life and father of her 14 children, Vito James Nico.
Joyce attended Michigan State University and was an avid Spartan fan. While there she studied food and nutrition, a true passion of hers, and something she taught and practiced throughout her life.
Joyce and Vito married soon after college and began growing their family to include nine boys and five girls: James, Thomas, Richard, William, David, Laura, Timothy, Joseph, Vito, Amy, Melissa, Jennifer, Joyce and John. There are 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Together Joyce and Vito enjoyed an active social life. Joyce loved music, gardening, animals, and antiquing. She had a great talent for interior design and an eye for creating beautiful homes. She cherished her friends, loved a good laugh and enjoyed a stiff drink.
Joyce was a spiritual person who spread positivity and joy to everyone she knew. Those who were fortunate enough to know her would tell you “Joyce was one of a kind”. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service in Michigan will be announced at a later date.
