Obituary

Juanita Faye Dixon (nee Sutton), age 87, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in Port Orange, Florida. Juanita spent her life rooted in the community she loved. A devoted Christian, her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She cherished her church family deeply and found great joy and strength in their fellowship.

Juanita was married to James E. Dixon for 44 years until his passing in March of 2000. Together they built a loving home and raised two children: Donna Thompson and Richard Dixon. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: David Dixon, Ronald Thompson Jr., and Michael Thompson and great grandchildren; River Thompson and Sophia Dixon.

Family was at the heart of everything Juanita did. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose warmth and care touched each generation. Her love extended beyond bloodlines; she was also embraced by her McDonald’s family; Mary, Tina, Joanne, Theresa especially – who held a special place in her heart. \

Juanita had a zest for life that shone through in her passions. She loved traveling and exploring new places, always eager for the next adventure. At home, she found joy in baking cakes – a talent that brought smiles to many – and spent quiet moments immersed in books, she loved to read.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m. to honor Juanita’s life and legacy. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

    To the Dixon family,

Mrs. Dixon was like a second Mom to me, during the years I lived in Daytona Beach.
I have fond memories of her, and know she will be missed by her family and friends.
My prayers are with you all.
