Obituary

Judie Lavdas, 80, passed away at her Ocala, Florida, home on January 29, 2022. She was lovingly surrounded by all of her family. Judie’s husband, Jim, who she was married to for over 60 years held her hand at her bedside. Her children, Laura Morgan (Barry) and Debbie Lavdas (Ray Tomlinson), were also with her upon passing, as were her grandchildren. She was Mimi to Stacey Martin (Joey), Nicholas Grippa (Panya), Zoe, Ty and Fox Tomlinson. Judie is also survived by her younger sister, Chris Peterson, and great-grandson, Lincoln Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joyce McGee, and sister, Jill Sampson.

Judie held many dear friends close to her heart, as she was loved by many and will be dearly missed. She gave back to her community, volunteering many years for the local Hospice and Meals on Wheels charities.

In her youth, she was a lifeguard and attended Miami University after growing up in Hillsboro, Ohio. After marrying Jim, Judie developed a love of golf and time well spent on the course.

Judie fought a brave fight against ovarian cancer for over three years, even receiving chemotherapy treatment one week before her passing.

Her essence of family, friendship and adventure will live on in her family, who will think fondly of her and smile as the sun shines warmly and the sea sprays gently.
