Judith Anne Sargent (DeJohn), of Sarasota Fl, passed away on Jan 13, 2022. She was 80 years old.
Judy was born on February 6th, 1941, in Syracuse, NY. Her passion for art began when she attended Solvay High School where she became the first female student allowed to attend graphic design classes. Her pursuit of the arts continued with sketching, oil painting, and ceramics, but was put on hold to raise a family.
Judy retired as the office manager at Price Waterhouse Coopers after over 23 years. Later, Judy’s passion for art was restored through photography. Despite her humble nature, her images brought accolades from several local contests. Judy was also an avid music lover and danced to whatever was playing. Her all-time favorite band was The Rolling Stones. Judy also enjoyed traveling, attending plays and concerts, playing the harmonica, and spending time with her beloved rescue dog, Mick Jagger.
Judy is preceded in death by her father Thomas DeJohn. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Michael Sargent of Sarasota FL, her 3 children, Robin Parvis (Patrick) of Colonie NY, Rebecca Sargent of Sarasota Fl, Michael Sargent of Latham NY, grandchildren Michael Henry, Sarah Henry and Sheila Vickery, great granddaughter Charlee, her sister Donna Fazio and nephew Ronald Fazio both of New Woodstock, NY.
Judy was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit. Judy will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and a loyal friend. Her memory will live on through the images she captured. She will be sorely missed.
Judy enjoyed spending much of her time at Marie Selby Gardens and the Senior Friendship Center.
