Obituary

Julianne Zurfluh-Alford, born on December 9, 1969, in Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on June 10, 2024, in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was the beloved daughter of Bob and Judy Zurfluh.

Julianne, known to her loved ones as Juli, lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. She touched the lives of many, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

On June 24, 1997, Juli married the love of her life, Jerry Alford, in a beautiful ceremony in her hometown of Saint Louis. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Juli was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster University, showcasing her dedication to education and personal growth.

One of Juli’s greatest joys in life was her family. She was a devoted wife to Jerry, a loving mother to her children Brian Boyet, Jesse Hernandez, and Ereca Alford aka Gines, and a doting grandmother aka Chi Chi to Baby Jesse Hernandez, Julian, Aiden, and Addison Alford. Her family meant everything to her, and her love for them knew no bounds.

In addition to her immediate family, Juli is survived by her father Bob Zurfluh, sisters Jenny (Roman Stolarski) Zurfluh and Jackie (Jamie Stinson) Zurfluh, her brother Joe
(Taryn) Zurfluh, her nieces Lindzie, Nellie, Joelie, her nephews JJ, Evan, Baby Joe, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her dearly.

Juli had many hobbies and interests that brought her joy, from gardening and cooking to crocheting and collecting oddities. She had a passion for finding new recipes and exploring different cuisines, and an eye for collecting art and treasures from thrift stores. Juli also had a love for the beach and enjoyed collecting seashells and caring for her dogs Angus, Shadow, and Blondie.

Those who knew Juli recognized her as a unique individual with a one-of-a-kind perspective on the world. Her curiosity and idealistic beauty, both inside and out, were truly unmatched. Juli’s kindness, warmth, and generosity touched the lives of all who crossed her path.

A private funeral service will be held to honor Juli’s life and legacy. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the wonderful caregivers for their compassionate care during Juli’s final days.

In closing, Juli leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in her life. Rest in peace, dear Juli.
