Obituary

Kara Lee O’Rourke, age 59 died on Monday, August 23, 2021 in Ocklawaha, Florida.

Kara will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband John O’Rourke and her sons Jessie and James Gray. She was a dear stepmother to Elizabeth Guadagno and John O’Rourke Jr. She was a beloved nana to Landon, Beth, Becky and Laine Gray, Morgan and Addyson Guadagno, and Taylor O’Rourke. She is survived by her father Kenneth Schorpp and brother Kenny Schorpp. Predeceased by her mother Joann Hampton and brother Kevin Schorpp.

Kara was from London, Kentucky and moved to Florida in 1995. Shortly after her move she began work at Wal-mart where she would meet her husband John and begin a new chapter in her life. In the upcoming years she would push herself back into nursing school to finish and get a degree in a career she loved and dreamed of. She graduated and became a licensed LPN. Kara loved her work and caring for others. She also had a passion for the Kentucky wildcats and would never miss a game. If she could see a game in person, she would try her hardest to make it happen. She also took so much pride in her grandchildren. She loved them all more than life itself and loved every moment she got to spend with them. Kara didn’t love anything more than her family and they too loved her. We also can’t forget her fur babies, Sage and Daisy. These two little girls were her light, and she couldn’t wait to get home to them.

Kara didn’t wish to have a big fuss made of her. No funeral arrangements have been scheduled. The family are asking that anyone who knew Kara to enjoy her memory and keep her memory alive, by talking amongst her friends and family. A person is only no longer with you if you let the memory die with them. Think of Kara and enjoy all the good times you had with her. That is what Kara would want.

I am very saddened to hear the news of my Sweet and dear friend Kara. We worked together and I just love her. She loved her boys. She was a Doxy lover like myself. When she found out I was a breeder she messaged me daily wanting an addition to her family so when I moved from Texas back to Florida I brought my litter with me and met her and John in Ocala and they took A beautiful girl and named her Sage❤️ She reached out to me a few months ago wanting another one as she loved them so much. Kara had a heart the size of Texas and loved her husband. my heart hurts that you are gone as I read the news today. I live your family up to Jesus and trust He will give them peace and Hope in knowing you are in His Hands now. I know you are with your maker in your Heavenly home. She was a good ole country girl and loved her family more than anything. I will see you one day sweet friend✝️

    Your Doxy Buddy
