Obituary

Katherine Lucille Buss, 91, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. Katherine was born on September 26, 1932, in Erie, PA to parents Milton and Olive (Steinhoff) Hoyt. She was one of 7 children. She graduated from North East High School with a high school degree and worked for Welch Foods for 30 years.

Kay enjoyed hosting parties. It was her favorite thing to do. She loved her church, First Assembly of God, Ft Myers, FL that she attended for 35 years. Her friends and family were the most important things to her. She loved everyone.

She is survived by her loving Husband Richard Leon Buss of 62 Years; Children, Lisa Buss of Ft. Myers, FL; Patricia Hilton of Ft. Myers, FL; and Michael Cochrane of Westfield, NY as well as many other loving friends and family members.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at River Forest Country Club. There will be fellowship and dinner.

    Aunt Kay was a great woman, wife, mother, sister, friend and aunt. She will be missed by anyone who truly knew her. I really enjoyed our visits especially the past few years at camp or when we were in Florida. She always had plenty of room in her home if you were coming to Florida for a visit and made you very comfortable. She was a big help when I broke my ankle while on vacation. There are so many things I will always remember about Aunt Kay. Until we meet again Kay. Love you!

    With the few experiences I had with you, you felt like my lifelong friend. So thankful I got to meet such a sweet and amazing person. We got along so well and were always finding something to laugh and banter about. Will always hold onto our memories.

    Aunt Kay; You were a bubbly happy lady that always cared about everybody, I enjoyed our phone conversations it always made my day. May you rest in peace and give all my loved ones up there a hug and tell them I miss them.
